CASE STUDY: Renting out Ecclesial Hall
If own your ecclesial hall/chapel/meeting house, are you making the best use of the space throughout the week? The Portland Ecclesia has been renting their building to numerous 12-step groups throughout the week. Read on to find out how the experience has been.
CASE STUDY: Create Homeless Bags
Every six months, the Verdugo Hills Ecclesia plans an afternoon to prepare at least 50 “Homeless Bags”. Each family or person in the Ecclesia takes two or more bags to hand out to the homeless that they can find so easily here in southern California.
CASE STUDY: Support a Family Housing organization
The Verdugo Hills Ecclesia provides help to get families assistance where needed and into their own housing. To do this they collect items requested items – toilet paper, shampoo, deodorant etc. and take them to the shelter for distribution.
CASE STUDY: Adopt-A-Roadway Cleanup Program
The Pittsburgh Ecclesia participates in a local highway cleanup program. Ecclesial members collect trash along a 3-mile stretch of county road near their Ecclesial hall. For their participation, the ecclesia is featured on a sign at the beginning of the allotted pavement.
CASE STUDY: Sew a simple tote
Connie from the Treasure Coast Ecclesia sews simple totes with her sewing group and donates them to shelters and food banks.
CASE STUDY: Blessing Boxes
The Chicago Ecclesia maintains a blessing box to supply those affected by homelessness and food poverty with basic necessities.
