The Treasure Coast Ecclesia partnered with The Garden Outreach Project’s “Kits4Kids”. We were mailed the backpacks free of charge from The Garden and filled them with school supplies. These were donated to “Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches” on Monday August 2nd. This local organization helps families with children both homeless and at risk of becoming homeless. We provided a total of 46 backpacks with school supplies, 24 to K-2 grade kids and 22 to 3-5 grade kids.

A fast turnaround was needed as school starts August 10 in our community. Within a week’s time we had everything purchased and ready to go. On Saturday we gathered together at Bro. & Sis. Jim and Nora’s home. When we arrived everything was assembled on tables in the garage with little notes as to how many should go into each backpack. With the help of Sis. Kathy Rose and myself everything went smoothly and we were finished within a couple of hours. The backpacks were delivered the next morning. The organization was very grateful for our endeavor and it was clear that this is a need they have every year. We were grateful that we could help those kids in need.
