I ordered the school supplies online. We set a day and time to meet at the hall. Probably had about 10 people came to help unpack boxes and fill the backpacks. It was a great opportunity to talk with my kids about others not able to buy their own school supplies. It was a good turn out and fun time for the ecclesia to get together and work together.
We chose to drop off our Kits4kids backpacks at the Next Steps Resource Centre, run by The Salvation Army. This organization works to support the needs of low income individuals and families. Some of the services they provide include Back to School supplies, Emergency food distribution, Life skills and job training, legal services, counselling and ESL classes.
