Cambridge Christadelphian CYC
Cambridge, ON
Recipient: Local homeless   Initiative: Care Packs
The Cambridge CYC organized a youth group activity focused on assembling care packages for individuals experiencing homelessness in the Cambridge area. Using the Care Packs financial grant as well as donations from our own ecclesia we were able to purchase supplies to assemble over 100 care packs! Together, we set up approximately six tables filled with necessities and worked as a group to assemble large Ziploc bags with a wide variety of useful items. These included warm-weather essentials such as hats, mitts, socks, and headbands; hygiene items including toothpaste, deodorant, chapstick, soap, and toothbrushes; as well as practical extras like notepads, pens, gum, hair ties, bottled water, and granola bars. We also included spiritually uplifting items such as pamphlets, postcards with encouraging Bible verses, and mini Bibles. Once assembled, the care packs were distributed among members of the ecclesia to keep in their vehicles and share whenever they encountered someone in need. With homelessness being a significant issue in the Cambridge and Kitchener areas, these care packs will be readily available to offer help, encouragement, and care to those facing difficult circumstances. Thank you so much to the WCF Foundation for helping us help others. It is truly a blessing to see Christ’s love shared through practical acts of kindness.
