Our family has had the privilege to volunteer for the last 18 years at a local Food Pantry called Foothill Unity Center. Foothill Unity Center serves 11 cities who have neighbors experiencing food insecurity and homelessness. I also worked part time as one of their volunteer program managers so I know very well the heart of this organization. They treat everyone with love, dignity and respect and fulfill their mission statement “helping people, changing lives.” We were able to donate 14 of the 20 sleeping bags to Foothill Unity’s Holiday Boutique, where clients who experience homelessness can select from items needed.  The other 6 sleeping bags we were able to pass out to 6 individuals near our ecclesial hall. We also gave them a care package containing a few hygiene items. All 6 individuals were very appreciative. We have continued to keep them in our prayers, looking for them as we travel back and forth to meeting in hopes of continuing a connection with them.
