Recipient: Looking Glass Community Services' Rural Program   Initiative: Bags of Love

My husband Eric and I live 150 miles away from our ecclesia in the Portland area. We were very happy that WCF enabled us to deliver 20 sleeping bags to an organization in our local community of Cottage Grove, Oregon. We selected Looking Glass Community Services’ Rural Program.

This wonderful organization provides a safe drop-in center for youth (ages 11-21) who are low-income, experiencing homelessness, at risk for homelessness, and/or who have run away and are interested in creating solutions that improve the quality of their lives.

Looking Glass helps young people on their road to safely and stability by providing them with some essentials such as meals and clothing; helping them to communicate by phone and internet; and referring them to mental health services, school/GED programs and/or substance use recovery programs as needed.

They were thrilled to receive the sleeping bags. Once the pandemic is over, I hope to volunteer for their organization. For more information, go to: https://www.lookingglass.us/about.
With love in our Lord Jesus,
