We decided to donate our sleeping bags(along with clothes) to Christ Body ministries located in Denver, CO again this year. They are a day shelter and mobile outreach throughout Denver and the surrounding areas. Their focus is on sharing the Gospel as well as providing for the physical needs of the homeless, such as food, clothing, showers, laundry, hair cuts, and more. They have a 1 year discipleship program and they also provide respite care for homeless men.

The reason I chose this shelter again is because of the work they do in sharing the Gospel among the homeless population and giving them a hope to spur them to make changes. They also not just provide for their physical needs but their spiritual and mental needs as well and work on preparing them for a future outside of homelessness. They prepare them for job interviews, build resumes, work to get them into temporary housing. We spoke with one of the organizers there and are going to put together a sock and underwear drive for them as well, which is a need they voiced to us. We look forward to working with them in the future to provide the homeless communities with their basic needs.
