Recipient: Hope Outreach   Initiative: Bags of Love

This year, Sister Bev and I participated in the Bags of Love initiative. We ordered Bible verse cards along with our sleeping bags and we wrote notes on them to attach to each sleeping bag package. We chose to donate the sleeping bags to a local Charity based in the Okanagan called Hope Outreach.

Hope Outreach provides nighttime outreach for the homeless and exploited women within our communities. HOPE volunteers go out seven nights a week at dusk in the downtown cores of Kelowna and Vernon with supply bags, including hygiene items, snacks, warm clothing, harm reduction, and attend to the women’s immediate needs.

When we had our sleeping bags ready to donate, Hope Outreach said it was perfect timing as they were prepping to go out that weekend to deliver gifts to those affected by homelessness around Vernon.

Sister Bev and I appreciate all the initiatives The Garden Outreach Project provide our worldwide community to participate in. Thank you !!
