Recipient: Comox Valley Transition Society Initiative: Bags of Love
My mother-in-law ( Sharon Enns) and I did this together; we are from the Comox Valley Ecclesia on Vancouver Island. We chose the Comox Valley Transition Society to donate the sleeping bags to. They offer outreach services for women, children and families who are unsheltered or struggling through poverty; and partner with the RCMP to provide victim services to those individuals who are victims of crime.
They also work with the Comox Valley Coalition To End Homelessness, as well as operate and manage the CONNECT Warming Centre (see photograph) and they offer several supportive and educational groups for girls, men, and grandparents raising grandchildren.
The Transition Society were super appreciative of the donation of the sleeping bags. Due to COVID, we weren’t able to go inside their office, but we met one of their volunteers outside to give the sleeping bags to.
