We live in Lincoln City, a small town on the Oregon Coast, before we moved here we vacationed here for years. During that time we were completely unaware of the discrepancy between rich and poor that both call this place “home”. Now that we do live here, full time, our eyes have been opened. I am linked with a volunteer website and a non profit called Coastal Services sent out an appeal for sleeping bags and blankets, being members of the Portland Ecclesia we had heard about “Bags of Love” so we sent in a request and immediately heard back!

Coastal Services serves a year round navigation center, a warming shelter during winter months, transportation assistance, a case management system for those experiencing hardship or addiction, and a peer support program. They were very grateful for the large donation.

For the sake of the privacy of their clients they asked that no photos were taken so I sent along a few without people in them.
